NOBEL PRIZE
Nobel prizes are given from 1901 commemoration of ALFRED NOBEL. He invented dynamites. Nobel prizes were given in 6 fields. They are
1. Medicine,
2. Physics
3. Chemistry
4. Literature,
5. Peace,
6. Economics

From 1961 Nobel prizes are also given in the field of Economics, On the occasion of completion of 300 years of Sverges Riks Bank (Sweden) in 1968. This is the oldest central bank in the world, established in 1668. These awards are given to 3 members in each field. All the Nobel prizes are given in Stockholm (Sweden) except Peace prize. It is given in Oslo (Norway). Nobel prizes are given on 10th December every year. 10th December is celebrated as World Human Rights Day. Madam Curie (Physics) was the first women who won Nobel Prize.

Medicine : Jeffrey C. Hall,(US) Michael Rosbash (US) Michael W. Young(US) "for their discoveries of molecular mechanisms controlling the circadian rhythm"

Literature : Kazuo Ishiguro(Japan) "who, in novels of great emotional force, has uncovered the abyss beneath our illusory sense of connection with the world

Peace : International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) "for its work to draw attention to the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of any use of nuclear weapons and for its groundbreaking efforts to achieve a treaty-based prohibition of such weapons"

Economics : Richard H. Thaler(US) "for his contributions to behavioural economics"

BHARATH RATNA AWARDS 
Bharat Ratna was given from 1954. In 2011 sports were also introduced in Bharat Ratna Awards. 45 members got Bharat Ratna Awards. It is the highest Civilian Award in India.

1. Lal Bahadoor Sastri was the 1st person who won the Bharat Ratna after death in 1966.
2. Indhira Gandhi was the 1st women who won Bharat Ratna in 1971.
3. Babu Rajendra Prasad was the 1st President who won Bharat Ratna in 1962.
4. Jawaharlal Nehru was the 1st Prime Minister who won Bharat Ratna in 1955.
5. Khan Abdul Gafar Khan was the 1st foreigner who won Bharat Ratna in 1987.
6. Nelson Mandela won Bharat Ratna in 1990

Literary Awards in India
1. Jnanpith Award :- It is the highest literary award in India. It is from 1961 by Bharatiya Jnanpith Foundation, with prize money of 11 lakhs. 1st Jnanpith Award winner- Shankar Kurup (malayali writer) for his novel "Odukkazal". 2015 Jnanpith Award winner - Raghuveer Chaudary (gujarathi writer) for his novel "Amrutha". 2016 -Sankha Goash ( Bengali writer) 1st women who won Jnanpith - Aasha Poorna Devi (1976) (Bengali) for the novel "Pratham prathi sruthi ". Telugu people who won the awards are Viswanatha Satya Narayana (1970) C.Narayana Reddy (1988) Ravuri Baradwaja(2012) for "Pakudu Rallu".

2. Saraswathi Samma Award :- It was given from 1991 by K.K. Birla foundation with the prize money of 10lakhs . 1st winner - Harvamsh Rai Bacchan. 2015 winner - Padma Sachdev for her novel "Chit - chate" in Dongri language. 2016 winner--- Mahabhaleswar sail(Konkan writer) for his novel Hawthan

3. Vyas Samman Awards :- It was given from 1991 by K.K.Birla Foundationwith the prize money of 2.5 lakhs. 1st winner - Ram Vikas Shrama 2015 winner - Sunithas Jain for her novrl " Kashma". 2016 winner-Surendra verma (Hindi writer ) for his nonel Kaatna Shami Ka Vriksha: Padma Pankurti ki Dhar se.

Man Booker international Prize : It is given from 2005 in all languages bin world.
2016 winner ----- Hang Sang (South korea) for her Novel "The Vegetarian"
2017 winner ------ David Grossman( Isreal) for his Novel "A Horse walks into a Bar".

Man Booker Prize : It is given from 1969. 2016 winner ----- Paul Betty for her novel " The sell out" Arundathi Roy book " The Ministry of Utmost Happiness" Short listed for 2017 Man booker prize.

Raman Megasasay Awards : These are given from 1957 ,given by Raman Megasasay foundation in Phillipines.The 2017 Ramon Magsaysay Award Winners: Yoshiaki Ishizawa, from Japan. He is being recognized for "his selfless, steadfast service to the Cambodian people, his inspiring leadership in empowering Cambodians to be proud stewards of their heri tage, and his wisdom in reminding us all that cultural monuments like the Angkor Wat are shared treasures whose preservation is thus, also our shared global responsibility." Lilia de Lima, from the Philippines. She is being recognized for "her unstinting, sustained leadership in building a credible and efficient PEZA, proving that the honest, competent and dedicated work of public servants can, indeed, redound to real economic benefits to millions of Filipinos." Abdon Nababan, from Indonesia.

He is being recognized for "his brave, self-sacrificing advocacy to give voice and face to his country's IP communities, his pri ncipled, relentless, yet pragmatic leadership of the world's largest IP rights movement, and the far-reaching impact of his work on the lives of millions of Indonesians." Philippine Educational Theater Association, from the Philippines. They are being recognized for "their bold, collective contributions in shaping the theater arts as a force for social change, its impassioned, unwavering work in empowering communities in the Philippines, and the shining example it has set as one of the leading organizations of its kind in Asia." Gethsie Shanmugam, from Sri Lanka. She is being recognized for "her compassion and courage in working under extreme conditions to rebuild war-scarred lives, her tire less efforts over four decades in building Sri Lanka's capacity for psychosocial support, and her deep, inspiring humanity in caring for women and children, war's most vulnerable victims." Tony Tay, from Singapore.

He is being recognized for "his quiet, abiding dedication to a simple act of kindness - sharing food with others - and his inspiring influ ence in enlarging this simple kindness into a collective, inclusive, vibrant volunteer movement that is nurturing the lives of many in Singapore."

Rajeev Gandhi Khel Ratna Award : It is the highest award in sports,given from 1991-1992. Prize money 7.5 lakh.
1st winner ------- ViswanathanAnand (Chess)
1st woman winner---- Karanam Malleswari.
2017 winners : Devendra Jhajharia,( javelin throw) Sardar Singh(Hockey).

The Dhyan Chand Award : The Dhyan Chand Award for lifetime contribution to sports development . 2017 winners. Bhupender Singh (Athletics), Syed Shahid Hakim (Football) Sumarai Tete (Hockey).
